How Snow Affects Pine Grove Preschool

By now, hopefully all our parents understand that Pine Grove Preschool follows the same snow policy as PUSD. Whenever Prescott Unified School District has a snow day, or a snow delay, we will be on the same schedule. For snow delays, that means we will open for drop-off at 9:30 instead of 7:30.

When we have inclement weather, it is wise to check with PUSD to see if there is a closure before driving your child to the preschool. You can easily check their web site at

Or call the school district office at 928-445-5400

Upcoming School Events

Pine Grove Preschool Is a happening place for the holidays!

I hope everyone has fit our Christmas program into their busy schedules for next week! The big night is Tuesday December 6 at 6:15 pm It will be held at Las Fuentes again, the same as last year.
Our classroom Christmas Parties will be the following week, Thursday the 15 and Friday the 16th. Sign up sheets are already posted next to the parent sign-in binders in the children's classrooms. Please sign up for one thing if you can, but don't feel you have to bring something additional once all the items are spoken for. We had a lot of extra after the Thanksgiving Feast, and are trying to streamline this sign-up process so that we don't over-do it!

PUSD is off December 19-23. Pine Grove Preschool will be open during that week for your convenience. Sign-up forms were emailed home and also put in children's cubbies. Make sure you return the form, no matter what your plans are for that week. Just mark either Will attend, Will Not attend or Other. Remember, those days are included in your tuition, not an extra cost to you, but we still need to plan our staffing around who will actually be here.Pine Grove Preschool will be closed for Christmas. December 26 through January 2nd. School will resume its regular hours on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Pine Grove Preschool will be closed for Christmas from Monday, December 26 through Monday January 2nd. School will resume its regular hours on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Have a wonderful Holiday Season as we celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus!

Thanksgiving Feast

Our Thanksgiving Feast was a very special treat this year. The kids had so much fun preparing decorations, learning about the first Thanksgiving and colonial times, and pondering all we have to be thankful to God for.

During chapel time, Mrs. Adams got everyone in a festive spirit with some Thanksgiving songs and fingerplays.

They were all so precious dressed up as pilgrims and Indians that we got pretty camera happy (BIG SURPRISE)!

I'm sure all of you parents know this already, but its worth saying: You have some really special kids! Their hearts were clearly designed to worship God, as was seen in their recognition of all their blessings and their sweet hearts in prayer.

It was great to have some of you join us at our feast. I know the kids loved having you here!

And to punctuate just how abundant God's blessings in our lives really are - at the end of the two-day feast, the school still had eight left-over pumpkin pies! Evidently, all of the parents who didn't get a chance to sign up for anything just naturally brought pie. So, as one of the teachers who benefited from your generosity (yum, yum!) Thank You!

Fall Festival - Down On the Farm

We at Pine Grove Preschool had so much fun at our Fall Festival this year! I know you have all been patiently waiting for me to post photos from the big day. So without further ado, here they are! Enjoy!

Students arrived to exciting fall decorations

Each group rotated between several fun activities. Starting with a visit from Woody and Jessie - provided by A Child's Dream Entertainment! Visit their web site here.

Once outside, the children got their faces painted by a clown (Cindy Eis' daughter, Shalom!) while they waited in line for their pony rides!

The pony rides and petting zoo were brought up to us from Carter's Farm Mobile Petting Zoo in Queen Creek, AZ. They are a really nice, relaxed family that blessed us above and beyond our expectations. Visit their web site here.

After sanitizing.....
the kids moved on to our "pumpkin patch" where they ran around and chose a pumpkin to take home. This turned out to be a really good opportunity for photos, and most of the kids had their portrait taken holding a pumpkin.

Then pumpkins were lined up and stored in cubbies while the kids lunched and played.

But our day wasn't finished yet! The aftercare kids had fun getting their photos taken in the front of the school with pumpkins and scarecrows!

This was so much fun, and we are so thankful that so many parents were able to be a part of the celebration!

Good Morning Pine Grove Families!

I can't believe the snow!! We were taken a little off guard when we realized that our website is not reflecting our current Snow Day policy so I wanted to let you all know what it is. It is as follows:

Pine Grove Preschool will follow the same Snow Day schedule as Prescott Unified School District. If PUSD is closed then Pine Grove Preschool will be closed. If PUSD is on a 2 hour delay then Pine Grove Preschool will also be on a 2 hour delay. Our regular hours of operation are 7:30 - 6:00 so on a 2 hour delay, we will open at 9:30 a.m..

Thanks everyone! Be safe out there!

We are so excited for our Fall Festival tomorrow!
We have so much fun in store for the kids. Woody & Jessie are on their way and the petting zoo and pony rides will be a big hit too. Our hours of operation will be the same tomorrow and preschool
will begin at 8:30 as usual.

If your child doesn't come on Thursdays and you are bringing them for the Festival, here's the scoop...

* Arrive for Festival Fun at 9:30
* Plan to park off campus. The Pony rides will be in the Parking Lot. Sorry for the inconvenience.
* Parents must stay to supervise their children.
* Mrs. Dougan will be your point person. Please stay with her and she will walk you through the Festival schedule.
* We will have a very full campus tomorrow so please stay at your assigned activities.

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

As many of you know, Mrs. Prettyman had pneumonia a while back and was out for a couple of weeks. She is doing great now and we are so glad to have her back, however, her absence was very bothersome to one of our students. When Jackson's mom Kelly asked him where Mrs. Prettyman had been, he replied "She's having some body work done." Upon further questioning he informed her that the problem was her arm. "Yeah, a shark bit it off." I can assure you all that Mrs. Prettyman still has both arms and that she has not had any body work done. LOL

So, it's lunch time at Pine Grove and Janet gets a phone call from one of our new Moms. (Answering the phone was her first mistake. Everyone knows that when you answer the phone, that children's brains short circuit and a ruckus is sure to ensue) Now lunch is over and as Janet is helping this Mom on the phone, Trevor who has previously tied the drawstring of his shorts to the leg of the table, jumps up excited to got outside. Being attached to the table when he jumped the table flipped over knocking John off his feet who then head butted Hank. Here at Pine Grove we like to learn about Science and on Thursday the kids learned a little about Cause and Effect via the Domino Effect :)
Gotta love working with Preschoolers!!
